Dhund

Dilli kee sardi, uff! Hay mera pyara Dilli :(
Another one of the great shots taken from the balcony of my room in H4 Hostel at JIIT. One cold winter morning. I wonder how I gathered the courage to venture out in the cold so early in the morning!

Testa

This picture is taken from inside the tunnel at the Testa River Hydroelectric Power Station Project. The most amazing piece of engg I have ever seen. This construction varies from the normal ones. Here they do not build a dam, the water doesnt need to be stored up. The flow in the river is of such a great magnitude that they dont need to build a dam. A new approach is used here, they make a tunnel in the mountain and mid way in the tunnel they fit the turbine. So the water is redirected into this and the natural normal flow of the water is sufficient to run the turbine and generate 750KW of power. And since there is no dam involved, 5 or 7 such tunnels are being constructed on the Testa river at different points. The thing is totally environment friendly!

Im lucky to have been able to see this, this is not a tourist spot! How I got in is a different story! The tunnel was so so huge. Amazing

Testa River, Sikkim!

Small Kiddie

Oh, I always loved capturing children on camera. There innocence, uff. You can tell em taht you are taking their picture and they still act so natural with no camera consciousness at all. Love it!

Took this pic in JUIT during the class trip for the workshop!

Prince of Kulu

Adi, this guy is the prince of kulu. No i aint kidding he really is. He is from teh royal family of kulu. Great guy, so down to earth, I never cud av guessed it and he never told me. Great shot, natural!

Jackie

Seen in the pic from left to right are Harpreet Singh, Me and Anirudh Wali. You guyz must know Harpreet Singh Sran from his blog Preet Zinda and Anirudh doesnt own a blog but can be seen as Jack Sparrow in the comments list. The pic was shot when Wali was going home for the first time after his accident. This probably is the first picture taken of him after the accident that nearly killed him. The bugger still doesnt get serious about it. I'm holding in my hands the bag which collects the excretions from his liver with an end of the pipe going straight into his stomach. Check out my long beard in those days!

The Misra

This is Ankit Misra at Gurdwara Bangla Sahib in Delhi on Gurupurab. Just love this picture for the lighting and candles etc. We drove in cold winter night on motorcycles all the way to this place. I think I borrowed Alok's bike to get here, not too sure about that though. Alok's Bike and Misra's bike. Me, Shwait and Ankit came together here!

Dhoobi ghat

Seen in the picture are Piyush Gupta and Shwait Agarwal. Piyush is beating up Shwait into submition. Aparently Shwait was teasing him about a girl as to how Piyush would have funny kids with the girl and how the kids would make fun of their father and not listen to him. :)

The last walk!

The corridors of JIIT. It somehow stands for the last walk in the corridors. The silence and loneliness in here speaks for a lot of things. In the picture is Mr. Nisheet Singh. He always did make a good subject for my photos.

I love snow!

This pic is from Sikkim again, Nathula Pass. It is just wonderful and so so beautiful. I love this place. Someday if I have enough money, then I shall definitely buy a house here.

Wadhwa

One of my favorite teachers towards the end of college life. I did my major project under her guidance. The whole thing was such fun just because of her. Can easily claim that just because of her, I was amongst the few people who had direct access to ordering chemicals, while the others would have to do it through channels, such as make the list and give it to their teacher and then teacher sends it to HOD and ten HOD sends it to Director... blah blah. I was allowed to directly call up the dealer and place the order :)

None in the Dept were as pure of heart as her, and I shall remember her forever.

Prayers

This is Sikkim again. Taken in Gangtok. The colored leaflets are Buddhist prayers. I dont know much about them except that they looked beautiful. Everytime I look at it, I wonder as to what these people would be praying for. Someone to pass in his boards, other for good health of loved ones, and maybe a girl praying for finding the right guy for herself. Only if I could read the script. But that would be rude I guess!

Kristeine

And how can I forget her, this is Kristeine from Denmark. Met her at the backpackers in Sydney. Sweet girl, and the first one I had a real date with here!

Just clicked

I think this picture was taken by Wali, and amongst the very first shot with my E5900. I have used it extensively adding effects like sepia etc. Natural and good angle! Thank for this one Wali!

Bangla Sahib

This is a shot of the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara in Delhi on Gurupurab. I shall forever associate myself to this place and no pilgrimage shall ever be equivalent of coming to this place. There is much I learnt here and much I gained here. The four years in JIIT, whenever I had any troubles, I would come down to this place. Once my friend Ankit had some troubles of his own. I brought him here. We did sewa, making rotis for more than an hour. While eating later, I shall remember forever, the incident where the parshada fell by itself into my hands! No explanations on this one, ppl wont understand it!

Sing it out!

Ahhh, Nisheet Singh pissing his way out and relieving himself of all the pressure built up inside. Lolz. Shall never forget the days when he decided tolearn playing a guitar, just coz he thought that it would fetch him more chiks for coffee. Haha

He used to come up to my room with someones guitar and experiment on me with all the new things his was trying. On this particular day, I took this picture and multicasted it on to the network. The guitar turned out to be Nitin's and he came running upto my room! Lolz. He had a tough time that day! Hehe

The Window

Would like to call this one as something like window to heaven or .., Lolz. This shot was taken in Sikkim while traveling towards Nathula. It just happened. Sitting in the car, there was a sudden gush of wind and this window appeared, as soon as I took this shot, the window had disappeared.

Critically acclaimed!

This is another one of my critically acclaimed picture. Taken during the night from the balcony of my room in H4. I didn't have tripod at the time, so would stick to the sides of walls to add stability to my handling. My college was just beautiful, and there are no other words for it!

Gentlemen!

This is without doubt the only picture of me fully clad in uniform. I still don't know as to who the person standing behind the camera is, but I shall never be able to thank him enough for taking this shot. This was taken during the convocation of our M.Tech/MCA batches in early year 2005.

Left to right and top to bottom: Deepak, Rajat, Myself, Nisheet, Shashank, Shwait, Anurag, Prashanth, Swatantra.

Nirvana

Ohh my friends hate me for doing this, Taking pictures when they don't know about it. Always felt that it delivers the best of their emotions. Seen in the picture is my roommate Gaurav Giamzo probably relaxing after an examination. The relief of exams being over is evident on his face! Lolz

Shimla Night

Took this picture in the second last semester on the official trip to JUIT Wakhnaghat. This picture is taken from the Shimla Mall Road. Technically speaking, it is a very bad picture as the camera shake is very evident, however it is still very beautiful. Always loved the scores of lights on hill sides. In fact, the shake has actually made it all the more beautiful I think.

Sunrise

This picture was taken in the early hours of morning in the wing of my Hostel H4. I waited half an hour for the sun to rise to the exact spot between the space. It goes without saying, that most of us never really saw the morning sunrise, as we would sleep through it in those days :). Many people have liked this picture a lot and posted it on their websites or webalbums without my permission, thus making it one of my favorites.

Frozen

Kumar Anant used to bring his car when ever we needed to go out for drinks. We would drive all the way to Sarita Vihar as it was the closest Theka in Delhi and I loved the place due to the fact that I spent my initial days there. On one such trip, took this picture near the HDFC ATM. The kidos didn't know I was taking there picture thus explaining there natural expressions. To me this picture stands to the fast paced world engulfing us and we enjoying our life at our own pace. Certain things in life bring it to a halt or make it slow!

Crazy Nite!

This is my first accommodation at Sydney. The place was at Kings Cross. Yeah, I know, it is a red light area. Didn't know that ok! I booked it over the internet. When I arrived here, the place was full of Striptease joints. I didn't know it was red-light area, and for a moment led myself into believing that the whole of Sydney must be like this, with striptease joints all over the place. Lolz
Watch out for the Vietnamese guy, will be coming up with a short story about how he didn't let us sleep!

Jack Sparrow

Jack Sparrow a.k.a Anirudh Wali. This was a freezing night and it was probably raining outside. From the last few days at JIIT. He would come up to my room, taking the pain to climb all the way up. We would break the rooftop lock and sit on the roof for hours. Sit there looking at distant lights on the highway and talk about how life is gonna change all of a sudden, and how we would remain in touch, how the walls of JIIT will call out to us when we would pass this way!

Snow!

Shot this picture in Sikkim (2007) just before I came to Australia. I must confess that im totally in love with this one. Reminds me of what Harpreet once said, "clinging on to something concrete in life!"

MD Saab!

The dude! Always confined to the walls of his room, rarely venturing out to specific targets. He would always and always be siting in his room, and if ever he did venture out, then it would be to pre-determined destinations. Go there- come back. This picture is taken on one such visit he paid me in my room. I always wonder, as to why this reclusive and reluctant creature used to take the botheration of climbing 4 levels just to pay me a visit. Never saw him sitting in anyone elses room. I guess I could easily say that I was the only person he visited! Thanks for that dude.

You all know him as Aalok from http://aalok.wordpress.com

Neat n Clean

This must be the most decent and straight up picture this guy ever posed for, maybe coz he didnt know he was posing for one! This here is Nisheet Singh, Enroll No. 020401, and the guy is a total wannabe punk ass!

Varun Roy!

I had no reason to like this person what so ever. I never had one. This pic was taken at random sitting at their flat. He doesn't smoke, well at least I don't know about it. But now I hold myself in debt to him. He taught me somethings in life. Somethings which we both learnt the hard way. Now i respect him for what ever he is, and hope that he forgives me!

The only ever!

This picture is the only ever taken of the complete C4 batch. I still remember the day, we just finished our lab and were leaving. I had borrowed the camera from Mohit and it was running short of batteries. Somehow made everyone sit down and clicked the photo. I'm totally missing from the picture. Sobs. But someone had to click it, rite!
